Daniel Del Orfano
Daniel Del Orfano was born and grew up on Long Island, New York. He decided to stay close to his roots and attended Dowling College in Oakdale, NY. He received his BFA in Art Education and by the end of 2001 was teaching full time. He found teaching extremely rewarding but concluded that this was not his true calling, and it was at this point that Daniel decided to divert his attention from teaching art to creating art, allowing him to expand his horizons creatively. Demand for commissioned work increased and Daniel began developing his expressive style and implemented techniques that emphasised texture over realism. His work depicted realistic scenes, but the effects produced an almost ethereal feeling. The imagery began to take a back seat to the memory of which the image represented. Daniel Del Orfano's work depicts life as it is remembered- a snapshot, not of a particular moment but an overall memory.
