John Lennon

One of the biggest musical stars the UK has ever produced John Lennon remains one of the most recognisable musicians in the world. Born in October 1940, John Lennon had an interest in music from a young age, receiving his first guitar when he was 16. He would create the band The Quarrymen and at a performance met Paul McCartney. In 1960 John Lennon would leave the Quarrymen and form The Beatles the most commercially successful band ever. Following The Beatles disbanding in 1970, John Lennon would go on to have a successful solo career with Imagine being one of his most famous songs. Responsible for 25 singles in the US top 100, John Lennon has been inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With one the most iconic voices in music, John Lennon is a true legend.
