Transport for London

London Transport Museum hold one of the largest poster archives the world over. Copies of everything produced since the first commissioned graphic poster for London Underground by Frank Pick, are held in their collection. Under Pick's direction, London Transport commissioned designs from the top artists and designers in the UK. In the 1980s, the collection was moved to the Museum and contained more than 5000 printed posters and nearly 1000 original artworks. The archive has grown gradually ever since and is now a uniquely comprehensive picture of a century of British graphic design. Our collection features many of the best-loved posters and is regularly added to as more work is digitised.
