Anna Wilson-Patterson’s paintings explore her fascination with the haunting coastal landscape of the South East of England. She lives on a clifftop in Sussex enjoying spectacular views out to sea. Walking her elegant hounds, she wanders the open vistas of shingle, sand and sea, finding inspiration in fishermen's shacks, railway carriages, gulls and wildflowers. Her painting of many layers creates a textural, ethereal quality. “My gestures of adding, dragging and removing paint imitate the natural world, the tidal ebb and flow, the movement of clouds and wind.
