Marian Hill grew up in Somerset, where the textures and colours of the Mendip Hills have always been a huge influence on her work. She enjoys experimenting with old printed papers and decayed objects, using collaged papers to create complex two-dimensional images; Patched and pasted fragments add an original textural quality. Marian returned to the West Country (her true source of inspiration) after graduating from Kingston University in 1997. Over the past decade, she has produced work for magazines, book covers, greetings cards and art prints. She has also taught students and is currently enjoying the role of senior lecturer on the UWE Bristol Illustration Degree.
