Marian Hill grew up in Somerset, and the textures and colours of the Mendip Hills have always had a huge influence on her work. She likes to experiment with old printed papers and decayed objects, using collaged papers as a method of creating intricate two-dimensional images; Pasted fragments add an original textured quality. Graduating from Kingston University in 1997, Marian returned to the West Country (her true source of inspiration). Over the last decade, she has produced work for book jackets, magazines, greetings cards and art prints. She has also tutored students and is currently enjoying the role of senior lecturer on the UWE Bristol Illustration Degree.
